As per title, does anyone know how long Vodafone keep top up information for (like debit card number, number topped up, amount etc)? I would of expected at least 12 months?

My bag was stolen out of my car last December (17th to be exact). My debit card was used to top up a Vodafone number 3 times within a minute of each other. It has taken Manukau Police 7 months to get around to investigating (not their fault, I'm sure) but the officer dealing with my complaint has been told by Vodafone they only keep top up records for 3 months. He wanted to find out what number was topped up, obviously information I cannot be given myself.

3 Months in front end systems before heading off to data warehouse and INFO is not as easy to get

So it's not easy to get but it is possible? Is it an expectation of Vodafone that they retrieve this information if requested by NZ Police?

i dont think that really matters, fraud is fraud, whether it's $60 or $6,000.

Yes, I did initially, I can't actually remember the outcome, I think maybe they didn't do anything because it was reported to Police?

Yes it does matter do you think the police are going to investigate fraud if the amount is $1 or 1 million?

Hmmm, yes I can do this but going back to my earlier question, should the Police be able to obtain this information? They ARE trying to investigate and have been told by Vodafone that this information is not available any longer and has been purged from the system.

If anything the top ups would of been done to a Prepay number and we would have no INFO on the end user anyway!
