I have no 3g coverage with Voda here in Whangarei as confirmed on their coverage map even though I am about 600m from their cell :-( but 2Degrees shows full coverage on their map.
I thought that 2Degrees used Vodafones network outside of the main centres?

2degrees are rolling out their network nationally at present.

As for having no 3G with Vodafone do you have a phone that supports the correct frequencies?

Would you not be better asking 2Degrees if they have their own cells in your location?

Yes it does. I should have said I have no coverage at home, but if I walk to the end of the street and wave the phone above my head I get coverage :-)

I am on 2Degrees. From what I understand they have their own network and cell towers. If your phone shows that you are on 2Degrees network then you are connected to one of their cell towers and therefore are using their network.

If you are roaming off 2Degrees network onto Vodafone's, your phone will say that it is connected to VodaNZ.

So, is your topic because you are on Vodafone and don't have Vodafone coverage?

Or are you on 2degrees and see coverage on that provider even though there's no Vodafone coverage there?

Thanks for that. I am on Vodafone and was just surprised when I saw their coverage map as I thought they used Vodafones network. Obviously not tho.

Hi,

Yep, we have our own towers in Whangarei. You'll find the Mobile Broadband coverage here

Outside of our canopy our customers roam on Vodafone's network.

Cheers
