I would be keen to see speed stats and coverage experience from Auckland early adopters on the 4G offering from voda.

Please post area and speeds.

4G coverage foot print will change everyday

Some facts about the 4G network as of today category4 150.8 Mbit/s Down and 51.0 Mbit/s Up

This speedtest was done in Takapuna late last night on a CAT3 handset, Takapuna 4G is not live yet and I know the coverage was coming off Hauraki corner site
(approx 1km away line of site)

Geeks and their priorities. I would have thought electricity, running water and better beer would have been a priority for most people. Tongue Out

Do true geeks drink beer? Doesn't it affect their response times on their multiplayer fantasy games?

As for the other points, I presume they already have running water and electricity in Hamilton.

I believe there is a positive correlation between response times and alcohol...

I love the low pings on 4g.

All my 4g speed tests have recorded pings of between 20ms and 25ms.

Browsing websites is so fast, it feels as if it's loading from the cache on my phone!!!

I believe there are already other 4G sites outside of Auckland that are "live", ie in testing phase, but not officially live.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

I think 5 or 6 G will be available before 4G gets to Martinborough..! ;-)

That said, we are doing well with the recent upgrades and can get 10 or 11 mbps sometimes - which considering I only get between 1 and 3 on my ADSL is pretty good.

That

I think you will be quite surprised, Once the 700Mhz auction is complete Vodafone have already advised they will deploy 4G / LTE quite fast to rural areas

Here's a few of my results in various parts of North Shore, and varied signal strength.
