Curious. The new 100GB plan you're now on (that no longer has a termination fee/contractual lock-in). Is this for a plan with no T-Box/SkyTV ?

I still have a T-Box, I will admit I actually forgot to ask the charge on this, but I can get sky and sky sports added to my plan for $163.45 total a month, which is rather tempting

pebbles: Just wanted to update people (even though I semi-hijacked the thread earlier) after the patchy start I have now experienced the superstar that is JohnR in action and voila we have a result! I also think that Gary helped out without me knowing too? As the call I got this morning mentioned an email from said Gary.

So, they have swapped me to the exact match 100gb plan on the vodafone pricing now, with no more termination fee issues and the promise that, after the one change every billing day part, I can upgrade to the 150gb if need be with no hassles either :)

So thank you superstars of Vodafone, I can actually say now I'm much happier to be a vodafone customer than I was at telstra for sure. Also the CSR's are top notch, they actually call back when they say they will.

I've just switched to the 100gb warpspeed from the old telstraclear 60gb cable plan, no mention of contracts/termination fees when i changed.

It looks like Vodafone are wiping the slate clean for ex-telstra clear customers which is really wonderful

When you get a chance to talk with them perhaps - I asked for a callback yesterday thinking it would be easier than calling up and waiting on hold to talk with the sales team but one day later I'm starting to think that the queue waiting time would be worth the wait... (but perhaps I'm being too impatient....)

Does anyone know if you get a discount if you have a Vodafone account for your cellphone?

I asked this at the time but the CSR told me that was not yet setup. Mostly because the billing systems are split. I suspect it will be a while before they offer a bundle / discount with a cellphone for the historically telstraclear provided services. It will be nice when it does come about to both get one bill and hopefully a good form of discount.

Oh didn't think about a new modem. I've just checked and I have a Motorola modem that says surfboard 'SB5101i' underneath. When i move to 100G Warpspeed do i need a new modem?

EDIT: Just google and the SB5101 can do up to 30Mbps so I guess i need to ask for a new modem from Vodafone. Hope they can provide one for no cost

Hi pleccy. If you upgrade to our 100Mbps service we'll schedule a technician visit to test the cable connection, and replace and set-up your modem for you all as part of the upgrade.

Cheers, Gary

Takes around around 45mins, tech has to run docsis3 test at the tap(going up the pole) then again at the modem. then they have to sit there for ages waiting for the new modem to come online which can take awhile when they are powerd up for the first time.
