Hey guys,

I just noticed that Snap are going to be offering fiber to the BOF subdivisions soon.
My uncle lives in one of these in Christchurch and I was having a chat to him about it over lunch today.
Thought I would pass it on to you guys too!

Thanks Nic, good luck to them always good to have choice.
We will continue to supply the benchmark when it comes to a fixed line replacement IP service for the mass market and hope our customers appreciate a quality product and understand that it was WxC that pioneered FTTH for the New Zealand market.

Hi Maverick:

My contract with XNET BOF Fibre ends on 30th April, I am now thinking about switching to Snap
because:
1) "All you can eat youtube" $5 per month
2) Signup 24 months for 6 months free

wondering if XNET plan to release any counter offers? I do appreciate the fast and reliable service XNET provided and will definitely stay if you guys can offer simiar deals to snap's.

thanks

Hi Steven,

Happy you like the service, once your contract is up then you will have a choice as you won't be on contract anymore anymore so that's the good news :)

We won't be be offering free 6 months or the such, generally you find others will do this in a new market and lock the customers in for 24 months like this crowd to recover costs and is only available to new customers only.

We are of the opinion that we offer a quality product and the only true PSTN replacement offering, others we have seen offer a bit of dial tone and seems a near enough is good enough service. We don't and have never believed in that philosophy, we also don't want to be in a race to zero just for a customer land grab, so the pricing is based around around offering a quality offering for a reasonable price we do not want to be known or regarded as a 2$ shop.

in saying that things are always fluid and plans are always looked at, but right now there are no plans to counter offer others.

Again thanks for the comments on the service , much appreciated.

@Maverick

Are the prices listed here http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=65&topicid=112088 current/available?

Why don't they appear on the Xnet website at either: http://www.xnet.co.nz/internet or http://www.xnet.co.nz/internet/fibre-home ?

There's no nice way to say it but the Xnet website needs some serious work.
