Has anyone tried asking them to swap the v3x out for the non-3g v3 on this? I would really like to get the v3 instead of the bloated plastic toy like v3x.
I believe its to clear stock of v3x as v3xx has been launched. My friend tried to get them to swap the v3x freebie with a larger handset discount instead as he also doesn't like the the v3x but they declined.. So I'm not sure how far you would get. In saying that the dealers (First/Digital mobile) might be more likely than the Vodafone retail stores
asked at both the glenfield voda shop and the first mobile in the mall... answer was no, they wont.
but its better if I do get the 3g one because then I get the 1/4 more minuites on the youchoose plan, its ony $160 to buy out of the contract and I can sell the v3x on tardme for $300 or so, and then go to parallel imported and get the phone that I want.
Just waiting for confirmation from vodafone that the 1/4 extra airtime will still be there if I am no longer using a 3g handset.
With the first 3 months being paid for, and the text deal being free for 3 months too its like they are paying you to get a phone if you do go and cancel for $160 after 3 months.
well assuming that I get the 320 that the v3x goes for on trademe then they are in effect paying me $160 and giving me free monthly for 3 months. Great deal and will take me thru to when portability will let me migrate my prepay number to a plan :)

You wont get $320 for the phone on TradeMe, not now anyway.
You can buy this phone brand new for $350 and now a lot of customers will be given it for free. I'm sure there are other people out there wanting to sell them on TradeMe too, you'd be lucky to get $250 in my opinion, then take awya trademe fees.
And again up,,, Looks like $300 is easy to get. there is a flood of these on there at present though!
You should still get a reasonable price if you don't open the pack. Maybe $270, still a $50 razr is very nice, im tempted to do this myself and hack out the vodafone firmware. (too easy) maybe I should do the same to the v3x before I sell that too hmmm.
Well if I can get 300 for it then I can go to PI and get the v3 for $250 or so so actually come out ahead, and that also means that it has proper firmware in it already. Credit check failed and the people at the credit department leave at 4, so I guess thats why they wait till just after 4 to send back the decline announcement. Probarbly some $20 debt that noone at baycorp could be bothered telling me about.
