ALTRON ignore the DC map that is not getting changed while new upgraded sites come online just about every day, The whole of Wellington region is getting upgraded U900 Dual carrier 43Mbps and 2100Mhz 43Mbps some 2100Mhz sites are getting quad carrier as well where required

I have linked off to the Vodafone NZ website on page 2 this lists the sites that are getting upgraded that week, We would rather spend time upgrading sites than a map

owenw: Just noticed Vodafone put live LTE in their Wellington Lambton Quay store.

Landed at Wellington Airport this morning and noticed that 4G symbol on my Samsung Galaxy S4 and  managed to get 70.94 mbps.

Nice.

Upper Hutt CBD and Heretaunga (according to the cell site map the Heretaunga one is located close to the old CIT polytech) have been upgraded; getting 4-5 bars in a place I used to only get 1-2 bars, and the 3G datastick I'm getting 3-4 bars on the Vodafone connection manager and getting great download speeds. More areas seem to be coming online - everything appears to be pretty awesome.

Some speed difference between 3G (left) and LTE (right) on Vodafone NZ.

The location is at Russley (Canterbury Technology Park).

A few weeks with LTE and DC upgrades in Lyall Bay.
First due to the speed increase of LTE I've closed my landline BB account, its just too slow.
Speed wise I average 40 down and about 15 up, sorry I can't remember if its Mbps ext, but its done with the android speed test app, the server used is the akl Vodafone one.
Putting speed aside indoor coverage has gone from 1 or 2 bars to 4 solid depending on the room.
Coverage outdoors I've never really had a problem but what I really noticed today.
Between Lyall Bay and Houghton bay as soon as you got to the princess bay car park the 3G coverage was bad enough that one just had to wait before uploading anything.
Today I was able to post high res photos, to twitter, stream music from Google and yes make a call with out a problem.
Now I did still have issues going on the trail up to southgate in the middle of the bush which was no major fuss.

Anyway just my time with the Vodafone network upgrades which have made it even faster to do what I like to do

Oh on a side note how have people found hataitai was passing through yesterday and had full bars the whole time on the number 14 bus. In the past its been shocking.

Phones used Xperia SP and Z

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

Will 4G be coming to some of the more far out suburbs of Lower Hutt like Stokes Valley?

That's cool. I am probably switching to Vodafone very soon due to subsidised work business plans. Currently on Telecom who have good reception, but terrible performance on my S3. Today it drops out even trying to do speedtests in Wellington CBD :(

The reception definitely has improved in the Hutt Valley in my experience so far with a few spots around Lower Hutt still in the process of being upgrades (based on the Vodafone website). There are a few spots around Lower Hutt where the reception is still a bit iffy - I was at a course at the Red Cross building on Pretoria street and the reception would jump back and forths between 1-2 bars on my phone - hopefully what ever tower is servicing that area is upgraded soon.

Just checked out the website again; it appears the roll out is still continuing - Vodafone must have a lot of cell sites. Great to see issue relating to coverage in Lower Hutt is being worked on based on the website.
