bender: Mine has been significantly better - however yesterday I was having problems on the cells around Remuera and Parnell with data sessions refusing to do anything. I could connect but not transfer any data... made sure it wasn't a DNS problem.

Other than that today has been fine.

Thanks Scott

dormancy reactivation time should have improved as well

johnr: How are end users finding the freezing issue now??

Fingers crossed this has stopped now and over all performance has improved

I haven't experienced a frozen connection for some time, but I am still having problems with frequent disconnections. Usually this requires me to exit Internet Connect, run the VMC software, then go back to Internet connect. I'm not sure whether this is a network related issue, though.

I've just performed a speedtest which shows that my download speed is 1.4Mbps. That's no better than what I have got in the past, but I'm still pleased with this result.

Late this afternoon I spoke to Vodafone Technical Support and got some brilliant assistance.

For me I use Symantec SystemWorks with the firewall option enabled.

I've since disabled the firewall option on their advice, enabled Windows Firewall and for the last three hours things have been running great.

So far no network drop outs or frozen connections.

Has anyone else noticed that the connection freezing problem appears to have resurfaced over the last week or so?

Yep I've also had this problem over the last couple of days ,,, I live in Hillcrest, Auckland.

Having to restart the connection a number of times to get things going, dismounting the VMC Card etc even with the Norton/Symantec FireWall not activated so I'm not so sure this is now the problem.

Spoke to Vodafone this evening and they're looking into the issue for me again after the session would completely freeze or allow me to download one page before no data traffic would flow back and forth.

I don't have these things on my machine, so that's obviously not your problem.

I've had four lockups between Sunday and Wednesday, although it's been okay for the last 24 hours or so. I was also experiencing frequent disconnections, but that problem seems to have ceased since the lockup problem started. Wierd!

I spoke too soon. It locked up again about ten minutes after I wrote this.
