I have just purchased a maxxv6 with the object of using it to connect to my notebook when travelling. After installing the software I get told that "your phone is being set up". I then get an error message c:\windows\inf\mdmgen.ing not found. When I ignore this .. as you do...the softtware then takes me to a message UMTS can not..... fall back to GPRS
I take this option and then I get GPRS can not..... contact your service provider.
Any ideas?
regards a very frustrated
Fergus

Hi Fergus, what OS are you running on your notebook? XP? Vista? Have you done a live update via the 'net on Motorola Phone Tools? (Assuming that MPT is the software interface you are using...)

Cheers,  Richie

Hi
I am using XP Professional and I have updated the MPT software. I am a bit suspicious that the phone I hjave selected from the software programme may not be mine . The only option is the V6maxx.

Have you tried calling 0508 MOTOROLA? They should be able to point you in the right direction :)

If it's any use I regularly use my Motorola V6 Maxx to connect under both XP Pro and Vista. I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the software.
