dejadeadnz: I've pretty much accepted that we'll never be able to get fibre unless two people on our cross-lease of 6 properties sell up some time soon and that's unlikely. 4 of the houses here REALLY, REALLY want fibre and (I wasn't there when these things occurred - going off second hand info from my partner and the other fibre-keen households) Chorus have said that if we want fibre, the two "hold outs" will need to cooperate and allow some work to go on their properties but they, ahem, won't play nice. If we are prepared to allow certain work to go on in common areas of the cross-lease, Chorus will play along but there might be extra costs (apparently not significant but I am purely speaking from our perspective) but one of the households that is keen gets to have their own house courtesy of a parent who is one of the holdouts/objectors, so certainly won't vote in the body corporate for us. My partner is also too concerned with being neighbourly so we just aren't gonna get anywhere.
Everyone has a price. It can be as simple as the other leaseholders mowing their lawns more.
