hi there!

I've been trying to get an internet connection to our house we shifted in to a month ago... I've spent a LOT of time on hold talking to vodafone representatives, most of which are helpful and polite.

the latest hiccup though doesn't ring true to me so I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on it instead of me being put on hold for 50 minutes (only to be told i need to talk to someone else... sigh)

sequence of events:
-- Wednesday, we get the shg1500 modem delivered
-- Friday, we had the technician come out and hook up the goods to our house.  we're getting naked VDSL
-- He left, I test internet with shg1500, it errors
-- I then wait for the activation email/text I'm supposed to get
-- it doesn't come by the Saturday morning (today) so i ring vodafone to confirm.
-- the guy on the phone tells me we've been sent a modem that doesn't support VDSL.  A new one will be sent out on Monday
-- i do some research and i find the shg1500 does support VDSL (if I'm not mistaken?)
-- so now i'm confused

After waiting 3 weeks for installation, I'm worried I'm about to get sent the exact same modem and then go through the fun of being put on hold for a lengthy time and have another confusing phone call with another random person (can you tell I'm getting fed up?)

Does anyone have a thought of what might be going on?  Do vodafone have the shg1500 loaded with different firmwares depending on your connection?  if so, can i load the correct firmware myself?

I'm continuing my research and will update if i find anything

any tips appreciated,
Cheers!
Jeremy

SHG1500 doesnt have any VDSL support, You should have got a HG659.
Maybe there was a mistake in the order, Hard to know the situation. Best to call and see whats up.

Cheers
