Does vodafone currently have any text plans like it used to with txt 2000? I recently turned on my vodafone sim to re use it as a personal phone, so I sometimes make the odd call but mostly txt around. :D Whenever I top up I get unlimited txts for a month, when that expires I am left with $20 credit which I am not sure what to do with since I cant buy any monthly plans other then using regular rates.

So you are on FreebeeTALK or FreebeeDATA, Supa_Prepay is what TXTNZ or TXT5000 could be purchased on

You could use the credit to buy weekly deals.

Seems to be consistent across all 3 major players - no txt only plans, which is a PITA, as all I want is txt  - have minimal use for data and voice on my secondary phone.
Only Skinny seem to have an $8 montly txt plan.

i'm on FreebeeTalk, :) Last time I used TXT2000 some was some 5 - 6 years ago. I read those supaprepay stuff is no longer valid for new customers. So after everymonth I am left with $20, which is good for 200 txts, but sometimes I use it sometimes I dont, weekly deals kinda suck for me, I wish there was a txt pack or a talk pack that I could buy which would last a month.

Skinny wont work on my old nokia 5800 phone,  So looking to maybe buy a n9. Alternatively I may switch to 2degrees.

Who can tell me more about 2 degrees? Do they offer some bonus every time you top up like vodafone?

Well, tha last 2 months ice been offered an extra 100m for $1 when my $19 rollover came through, so either they notice it's always data I finish, or that's a standard for my plan... But since it also rounds my monthly bill to the min $20 I have to top up, and they charge $6/100mb pack normally... I like the bonus offer personally!

If you use less than 250 texts a month (and no data), 2degrees $8 chat pack might also be worth a look

Let the Prepay credit build up for many months or a year then move to a zero term contract and the Prepay balance will follow over onto the postpaid account.

Then use it for on-account and then when credit balance all gone move back to Prepay as you are on a zero term month to month contract.
