I recently connected up a Vodafone business router (with the little screen on the side) for a public wifi hotspot in Highland park. Took a restart before the ADSL would sync, but when it finally got going it was pretty slow. 950kbps downstream, couldn't see any SNR or attenuation on the screen. Theres no phone connected on the line at all (so no need for filter), just about couple of metres of 25-pair cable from the demarc, and modem cable plugged straight into the 25-pair patch panel.

Do Vodafone do any followup on new connections? Seemed a bit odd that a commercial area would have such bad ADSL lines. However, its unlikely to be congested or anything if the DSL link turns out to be stable.

Time to find a new industry!

Have you lodged a fault with them?

Maybe you should request VDSL if it can be connected and have you tested speed not using Wifi?
