Great news. Was going to get rid of me and my partners accounts and port numbers to telecom. Talked to customer service just a few days ago and the guy said best mate will NEVER be for on account customers. Almost cancelled then and there. Usuall poor vodafone customer service. Andrew

paradoxsm: Hi Paul, I think there might be a slip-up in the wording..

The Media release states "customers can choose unlimited weekend calling to any New Zealand number."

But the plan states "Unlimited weekend calling and TXTing to Vodafone mobiles" which is not "any national number"... a slip?

Dammit. Yes, that's my fault, mashing two sentences together. Unlimited calling to your BestMate at any time, unlimited weekend calling to Vodafone mobiles.

Sorry for the stuff up - I've corrected the original post as well.

Back to the drawing board for me.

spazz: But in the instance of changing from a 24-month Choose 60 plan, are you not merely changing the details of the plan, as opposed to re-signing entirely all over again? I'm still on a 24 month term, still get 60 included minutes, it's just the bits round the edges that would change..?

You are correct... you would want to change your plan not resign.

paradoxsm:

.... Is there any chance we will ever see a bundle or bestmate for MMS "PXT"??? the bulk of my usage is for photo and video (I have an N95 which is designed around it's camera)...

Doubt it. From what I remember, people don't PXT enough. Guess it has something to do with the tons of free photo sharing sites online?

Must say that the plans look good.  Unfortunately, still too pricey for me - especially when adding the BestMate fee on top.

No one has really mentioned the advantages to PrePay users too... having the ability to add 2 more bestmates on your prepay phone is quite good news for that rather large bunch of users.

From what I have been led to believe, you can't just do a plan transfer onto these new offers if you are already on You Choose, you HAVE to resign.  Paul, correct me if I am wrong???

Cheers,

Richie :)

Hi all,

I've put together a post on our early termination charges, but I think it's possibly getting a bit off topic for this thread, so I'll post it as an all-new thread... Maybe we should make it sticky and leave it at the top of the Vodafone forum? Any editors out there that want to have a crack at that?

Cheers

Paul

CSR's & Vodafone resellers are usually the last to know about any special deals or promotions, from my understanding & it's very unfortunate that *some of them* provide misleading & incorrect information. Take anything they say with a grain of salt in my honest opinion, unless of course the information has been "offically released by Vodafone".

So when is all this info going live on the Vodafone website?

Are there any tv campaigns schedualed?

Is there enough capacity on the Vodafone network to handle all the extra usage?

It all kicks off on September 3.
No idea.
Yes.

Paul, if you can reply to this, it'll be great....

Q: Is there any plans / rumors / suggestions from Vodafone, that in the very near future we'll be able to bring our prepay Vodafone number to Plans???

It'll really save me a lot of trouble, I would otherwise have to swap my prepay to a telecom mobile then port it over.... Silly, really!

Thanks!

mikal: It makes me laugh that to move my number from prepay vodafone to on account vodafone
I'd have to buy the cheapest Telecom handset on prepay then port my number over to Telecom Prepay then port back over to Vodafone... whata hassle but I'll probably end up doing it...

Unfortunately you can't do this.  You can't port a 021 prepay number from Telecom to Vodafone contract (you probably can't port it back to prepay either).  The sooner the Commerce Commission do something about this, the better.

Really????  So I can't bring a Vodafone Prepay number, to Telecom Prepay, and then on to Vodafone Account???

Paul, it'll be really great too if I can get a reply to my previous question, thanks!

Sorry previous post doesn't make much sense.  If you were real die hard to stay with Vodafone and move from prepay to on account and keep the same number.
Pretty much you have to port your VF Prepay number to Prepay Telecom and purchase a Telecom handset, THEN port your number BACK to VF On-Account.
Stupid work around but a work around none the less.
