So a few months ago i took up the offer to get the free sim with 500mb of data on my red+ plan from vodafone.
Got a txt today saying my 2gb on my phone is now 5gb and went onto the website and saw they now advertise it as 5gb shared instead of 3gb phone + 500mb secondary.

I tried calling 777, gave up after waiting half an hour.

Anyone know if my secondary sim would have switched to shared instead of having its own cap? I only use about 500mb on my phone so its quite exciting to see i might have some more data for my carputer.

The extra 500MB SIM you have is a little different to a Red Share Tablet SIM... changing it would depend on whether the data SIM has a fixed term or is open. If your main Red package is on a 24 month term then the Share Tablet SIM is free, otherwise will be $10/month

Thanks
This sounds like a 3 hour wait in the holding queue for something i dont use that often

I may wait until midnight and call them.

I think my plan is over 24 months old now

Kinda. I have a android head unit in the car with built in wifi, which talks to a vodafone portable hotspot with my tablet sim in it.
Its so I can get into the company cloud system and look up accounts and stuff without needing to use my phone.

And i can use google to look up addresses and maps and stuff. All without triggering a revenue gatherer (tm)

Can't you switch the link to use the phone for hotspot? (when the 500mb runs out)

I used to do that but it really wastes the battery in my phone - I am on it all day and drain it enough with calls, and charging in the car is always a hassle to remember to plug it in
The hotspot stays on all the time and runs off the car battery quite well :-)
