DarthKermit: I thought you Vodafone employees (and ex-employees) had a special secret code you could enter while waiting for hours on the phone to speak to an actual live human being (assuming there are any/many left at VF), to bump you up the waiting queue. tongue-out

What an employee or ex-employee can do is be aware of what times of day queues are bad and what times they are good or non existent. Useful for some types of issues less so if you have a tech issue you need immediate support on.

Please note: I have a professional bias towards Vodafone.

TimA: Sooo Geekzonies. I relocated. Lost my 70Mb/s VDSL. :( Please 1 moment of silence.
New house has over 30 so still winning right.
Diray as follows:
Tech came 1 day after RFS.
Tech didnt want to move my jackpoint (Just required jumpering to another cable and changing from BT plug to RJ11) (Did myself)
Tech never completed the order.
Called VF, CSR had no idea and told me to wait
Called back. CSR had no idea and transferred me directly to provisioning.
Provisioning had no idea and updated the order and told tech to come out.
Messaged mate at VF who updated order asking to close and ignore prev notes
(Still no PPP)
Called now at 9:30, CSR had no idea, Didnt have access to Chorus tools but still claimed to be tech support. He transferred me to business tech.
Now im waiting again until tomorrow for them to decide that i should wait another day for it to *activate*

Cringe,

Maybe this is payback for me having a lel at everyones problems.
Who knows.
But isnt it funny that the support i have received has been terrible. All CSR's i spoke to were from the Philippines.

Maybe you might need to call the sick phone :P

kiwitrc: I feel sorry for Phillip Innes having to do all that support by himself.

On a serious note though, I am getting close to walking out on our corporate contract with VF as its been 2 months since I asked for something to be fixed and still nothing, latest bill appears to have been created by a random number generator.

OK I now see what folks are saying about the billing with my latest effort from them. But I think I have a bead on it they think of a number multiply by 2 , multiply by the number they first thought of, add 100, deduct 10, deduct 1/2 the first number, divide by 2 and multiply by Pi

Horseychick: Oh dear surprised and just yesterday I organised to move my landline/broadband/Sky with VF to my new address.

Rushing off now to investigate other options................. cool  Recommendations gratefully received for Waitakere area (rural)

I use Snap quite successfully, although the copper isn't wonderful out this way (Hunters Rd area). ADSL1 speeds. Mind you I don't want / need Sky, so don't know whether the bundle deal offered by VF makes up for the issues.

+1, it's no different to messaging one of the VF reps on here to get the same thing done?

Why?

Having someone actually attempt to fix a problem is a sackable offense

Perhaps but it looks like they didn't manage to fix it so their job is safe (well as safe as it can be).

I recall reading as part of mandatory code of conduct training or some such thing that checking (let alone updating) a friend's or associate's account is considered serious misconduct.

My comment was intended to be a little tongue-in-cheek and I agree it's pretty inconsequential on this occasion but it's a fine line.

na he won't get sacked.

You're just not allowed to touch your own account if you work for the company.

Still nothing.

Sigh. Told to wait another 48 hours.

I think we are pointing at chorus as the tech was useless enough not to sign the job off when he was here and instead at the end of the day.

Wait...you went from 70 Mb/s to 30? That's not winning. I'd be pretty unhappy about that.
