TimA: Sooo Geekzonies. I relocated. Lost my 70Mb/s VDSL. :( Please 1 moment of silence.
New house has over 30 so still winning right.

Wait...you went from 70 Mb/s to 30? That's not winning. I'd be pretty unhappy about that.

30Mbps sync, so that's like about 25Mbps actual speed, which is SLOWER than the 29Mbps that my RBI Wireless connection gets up to.
That's some major dive, almost at Conklin speeds :(

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

Yayy so its working as of now.

The fault lied on the Vodafone end and not Chorus now apparently. Chorus had the right port.
So after many CSR's that couldnt understand what i said or know what they are doing an old mate of mine had a look and sorted it.
If i didnt have someone that i could have gone to in the end to fix it i am sure as a general user i would be completely up sh1t creek.

Its a bummer i dont pay for the internet, If so it would be with Medium Pipe or Telecom.

I have no choice but to use VF if I want fast internet. The best speed other ISP's can offer is circa 7 to11mbps. Chorus won't be doing UFB here until circa 2019 or later.

solaybro: You need to make some changes.
<snip>

I tried telling him to make some changes a while back when he was getting 15mbit: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=40&topicid=157234&page_no=2#1182432

I will be on 200/200 UFB soon so have updated my status to reflect.

Go from 200/200 fibre at work then come home to ADSL (8mbit / 1mbit) and then you can come back and cry about it. You and you're 30mbit VDSL....

Actually he should try living on 4/1.5mbps on 2Degrees 3G HSDPA service for a month and then come back.
Sorry if this post seems a bit mean but vodafone did just lay off or have plans to anyway. Can't expect them to reach out to a ex vodafone employee sometime soon.

(that is a bit harsh but gotta put the talk into it right?)

I go from 500/500 fibre at school to 100/50 fibre at home. What a world we live in!
