At last!

Guess it will be bye-bye Vodafone pretty soon for you then - still think they are shooting themselves in the foot by not allowing customers to switch from cable to fibre. My house should be down by May and the only thing that makes me umm & err about switching is having to change landline number... (as I'm assuming you can't port your 905-xxxx number to a Chorus exchange)

If you port to a service such as 2degrees/Snap VoIP then you can take any number.

Yes, I have already put an order in, and not with Vodafone. When the install is done I will call to cancel. Waiting for date confirmation now. And yes, going with 2degrees UFB.

Kodiack:... But - to Vodafone's credit - we have been compensated incredibly well for our interruptions ...

I don't know of anyone else who has been compensated for interruptions. Presumably you asked for it?

I thought that was being done on a case-by-case basis too?

I didn't ask I just raised a ticket about the congestion problems and they credited my account $200.  Didn't offer a resolution or discuss the amount of compensation just said

"I have already applied $200 Credit in your account for the issue you faced with the speeds for the last few months during the evening time. Please let me know if you have any other queries.".

Interesting. Given all the issues I would have thought a blanket credit would have been applied to all cable customers in the affected areas (a la Telecom/Spark when all the XT issues were happening in the early days). But I guess not.

I'm not sure I'd call a $200 credit for eight months of a $100+ per month internet connection being unacceptably slow, generous.

Just got a phone call from Chorus confirming date for tech visit to go over fibre install planning and date for install three days after.

Ten days from now and I will leave this thread.

Since 2degrees/Snap had our back covered with our backup DSL connection I decided to go with them for UFB.

Because as I mentioned Snap was really good when we used then as a backup DSL connection so they deserve my business.
