I've been with WXC for over 5 years now, and over the past weeks/months I've started to get quite a lot of lag issues in League of Legends (not sure about other games as I don't play others). Normally my ping will be around 30-50 and in the past I very rarely have ping issues, but lately it'll spike up to somewhere between 150~300 and stay there for a long time. It's not a lag spike where I get 999 or disconnected, but I'll be playing on a constant 200-300 ping for the whole game, or in the bad times, the whole night. This happens at all times of the day, although I haven't tested too much weekdays during the day as I work fulltime. 

It's an ongoing issue where some nights it'll be good, and others it won't, or sometimes it'll be bad for an hour or so, and I have experienced this over the past few weeks/months. Tried doing resets and all that jazz. I'm in Kingsland (urban) on Fusion Unlimited plan on ADSL2+ (getting UFB soon), with the MP264 router. Speedtest doesn't really tell me anything out of what I would expect. Router reports 10.56Mb down/736Kb up (normal for me). Connected to an exchange AFAIK.

Anyway, I'm unsure if this issue is worth looking at until I get fiber, but just wondering if anybody else on WXC has been experiencing intermittent ping times.

- you have reset your modem and router



- your PC (or other PCs in your LAN) is not downloading large files when you are testing


- you are not being throttled by your ISP due to going over the monthly cap

- Your modem DSL stats (do not worry about posting Speedtest, we need sync rate, attenuation and noise margin)



- Your general location (or street)

- If you know your connection is to an exchange, cabinet or conklin



- If your connection is to a ULL or wholesale service



- If you have done an isolation test as per the link above



Most of the problems with speed are likely to be related to internal wiring issues. Read this discussion to find out more about this. Your ISP is not intentionally slowing you down today (unless you are on a managed plan). Also if this is the school holidays it's likely you will notice slower than usual speed due to more users online.



A master splitter is required for VDSL2 and in most cases will improve speeds on DSL connections. Regular disconnections can be a monitored alarm or a set top box trying to connect. If there's an alarm connected to your line even if you don't have an alarm contract it may still try to connect so it's worth checking.

Possibly related to the threads in various other ISP forums about significant slowdown / throughput issues over he last 2 weeks or so?

Thanks. It does sound like it's not an isolated problem (if it is indeed this same issue). I'll wait for things to smooth out and hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
