Anyone else noticing issues with connecting to cloudflare enabled sites on Vodafone? (iknow, irony of asking on here being that geekzone is behind cloudflare.. im running over a ssh tunnel to get through.)

Having the issue on DSL, Auckland. I didn't really thing much of it at first, until i noticed there were other sites also not loading after a friend mentioned they were having issues (DSL, Christchurch)

Checking over mobile, seems the dns resolution doesn't even happen for sites behind cloudflare, although that based off the browser error. I haven't dug deeper to check that.

Got quite a few reports of people unable to access our site that's behind CloudFlare, all Vodafone customers.

Cloudflare spoke up on this.

https://twitter.com/eastdakota/status/631390591448846337  (no idea how twitter embeds work here...)

Based off the implication that its an APE issue, ild suspect that explains some reports of trademe and freeview being dodgy.

Seems Vodafone NZ no longer exchanges traffic over the APE?

Where did you get this idea from? It was mentioned before about a Cloudflare routing problem being looked at by Cloudflare.

For what I see traffic to Geekzone is landing on Cloudflare AKL POP, 18ms away via cable.

No I was just curious as to whether it was at the time of the original post when Vodafone depeered their Red side (ADSL/VDSL/UFB but not cable which was not peered to begin with) traffic at APE.

There are also comments in this thread about other sites (e.g. freeview web site behind iconz) that were inaccessible during this time.

Kiwibank too, which is behind Red Shield (a local CloudFlare-type service) and would normally traverse the APE.

CloudFlare said that the issue was VF's APE peering and they routed around the APE (via Sydney) temporarily to avoid the issue. So it wasn't really a CloudFlare issue, they were just able to put a band-aid on it faster than Vodafone could fix it.

its good to see cloudflare actively doing things like this, if only vodafone could catch it that fast.

Vodafone were still at the oh? something possibly might be wrong but unconfirmed stage when cloudflare stepped in... (atlest publicly anyway, ild hope their NOC were already aware of it....)

on another note, what happened to Vodafone merging Blue and Red networks, as was implied was being completed at the time when cloudflare routing was first being looked at for auckland. we are months down the track now, and quite clearly there is a split between Red and Blue.
