If you are an android user, you are well served by Vodafone for flagship handset choices - as long as your flagship choice begins with Galaxy!

Samsung aside, Vodafone have no 5" (or larger) recent flagship android handsets on offer!

No Nexus.

No LG.

No Sony.

No Huawei.

No Moto.

My Vodafone term contract is due for renewal in a few months. Vodafone, you are on notice.

Considered the HTC M8 they do? i love my M8x, i personally am not so keen on the M9 due to a few things with it, so somewhat glad they still do the M8 there.

The Telcos know of only two "flagship" makers, they are Apple and Samsung.

Isn't it cheaper just to buy a handset outright rather than leasing it through a term contract

Personally I prefer to buy outright, gives you far more freedom to move around or plans, plus more of a range.

I imagine in the corporate sector I'm sure 99% would be happy with either an Apple or Samsung flagship?

My understanding is the number of people still sign up on term contacts to get subsidised handsets is now pretty low outside the corporate space. Even then it's only Samsung and iPhone's that people care about.

The very simple real world reality is they don't need to bother with anything else because the vast majority of customers simply don't care about other brands of phones.

I'm a corporate customer and I'm not happy with either of the above (though accept I might be an outlier).

Err, I got my current Z2 nearly two years ago from Vodafone. So not too excited about upgrading to the same phone.

If you had a room of 100 Kiwi's together and asked them who made cellphones, how many do you think would say LG/SONY/HAUWEI or Motorola?

Supply is based on demand, clearly VF don't see the demand equal to the significant costs of stocking, marketing, selling and supporting all these flagships or they would be doing it.

All your contracts have a supply your own phone price and a device included price, and to be fair in most instances it's cheaper to buy outright, but less convenient.

I suggest reviewing this comment that was lost in the much longer discussion about the Note 5 http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=177783&page_no=6#1405706
