Cant wait to hear the explanation.
I think the only one that would make the cut given the lack of comms thus far, is a fire resulting in total loss
or possibly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEnqIhCe4Ww
Their entire network isn't down - voice is still up for business/enterprise customers.
Major building fuse gone.
Apparently fix two hours away approx.
Kooz:stevenb: Based on Vodafones replies on Twitter all they are doing is passing the request on, seems they have no idea what is happening at Vodafone Next Gen /WXC
VF knows what's going on, but this fault is something that'll need time to be fixed. It's just one of those problems where we need to sit tight and just let the techs do their work to fix the faults causing the nation wide outage.

lol.. their twitter hasn't been updated since 2010
https://twitter.com/wxc_status
a wild stab would say that its been abandoned.
mattwnz: Why don't there companies have independent hosted network status pages? Don't they have any social media presence?
it's called twitter. and they probably just don't have anyone that felt inclined to do it.

Hey all, Another update. WXC's Engineers and Electrical contractors are working to restore services after a power issue. Their estimated time to repair the issue is by 6pm tonight.
No guarantees but that's what they're prediciting.

Or Facebook. Twitter is used b very few in comparison and not growing. Even small companies have a social media presence. costs hardly anything to communicate with customers this way. If I was a customer I wouldn't be happy that they haven't communicated the problem via their official channels such as twitter and Facebook.

i'm an ex-customer. they didn't really impress me with their invoicing systems and their voice portal or whatever left a lot to desire.
the problem with things like facebook is that if you have an outage like this and no-one to maintain it you just get lots of people bitching, then people come back to it later and all they see are complaints.. it's usually smaller companies and larger companies that jump into social media.. but wxc is in the awkward middle stage afaik.
Finally found a site that had information on this. All services have been down since I noticed it around mid-day today in Palm. Nth. After resetting the modem and no change tried to get hold of XNET and like a lot of other no replies and put on music hold for ever. Checked the web site for WXC, all down. Vodafone, no indication to any network issues.
Finally tried Vodafone numbers, got the Philippines and after a quick chat was put thru to support in Auckland.
Guess what, when questioned about the no response, they said they weren't busy with calls. Gave some details and he found out that the whole network is down. So no internet, phones or email. The Tech didn't have any information as to what the issue was or when a resolution would be available.
If it wasn't for this site, I think I would have been more miffed given the lack of information.
Back when WXC was WXC, a call to support was responded to immediately or within 5 minutes.
Vodafone, DON'T have contact numbers if you don't intend to have them answered and no indication as to where you are in a queue. AND what's the problem with putting up a network status on you main page.
Anyway, good to know it's not just me and it sounds like someone has been able to gather more info than me. Midnight tonight. OK, I can run off my data mobile plan.

No generator? Even I have a generator for my small data room (admittedly it's manual start, but still).
