I'm a little annoyed about the outage , I recognise they are inevitable.....but I'm very upset that vf thinks it's OK not to communicate with hundreds of thousands of customers who will be rebooting and checking all manner of stuff.

FWIW it's not hundreds of thousands of customers. WxC moved to really being business/enterprise focused so from reports yesterday the outage only affected 30,000 customers who are Vodafone Next Gen customers (the new name) - not Vodafone customers.

30k is the size of a city in NZ, so is big number for the size of NZs population. That would also be connections,  so if you average 3 people per household, that could be 100k of people affected.

WXC's service has gone downhill since they sold out to Vodafone.

I recall being able to call their call centre and have the call picked up within a few rings.

A few weeks ago/last month we had an outage, god forbid we had to talk to each other, however was on Hold for 1.5 - 2 hrs until I got a response.  There was no nation wide outage at this particular time.  The problem was due to faulty Master filter to the house.

This weekend, was on hold for approx 40 mins, never got through, gave up.  Tracked down what was happening by some obscure link on FB.   At least you can do is Update your voicemail message or get a backup generator.  Common guys.

Really, I think WXC's support service has gone downhill and the way of Vodafone since the sell off.  Not really good enough.

Email is dodgy at the best. Had Imap working on phone and now it is only sometimes. Pop is the same. Things are really slow. I thought it was all go again since yesterday. I'm having to use webmail to get access to current email. Vf you suck with the non response and outright lack of information updates.

UPDATE: Rang the support number and we now have a new message explaining the current status.

Yes there has been a electrical issue which they are or have fixed.

Yes Email is still a work in progress. Recommend if not working via POP or IMAP is to use the Webmail which is working.

If you can't access your webmail, they have stated to power reset your modem 10-15 seconds. If that doesn't work then you may have to log back in. Check your modem settings.

Sending email seems to work though?

Calls to support is as what most people have experienced, lots of calls (because they didn't bother to set up information when it happened).

Again. Guess we have to wait until they get things fixed. Would have been good to have some kind of resolution time.

Webmail is not working from here at work, which is not an Xnet connection.

I'm not going crazy then. Must be those trying to access webmail from a non xnet connection that cannot get to webmail.

Well it is working now from home, which is also not an Xnet connection. (Slingshot) So maybe it was down again for a bit.

A WxC presence in this thread is suspiciously lacking.

No notification/communication/explanation received or on their website anywhere, nor have I received anything via email.

Think it might be safe to ignore the customer feedback on this page before considering adding any future services - admittedly it is out of date somewhat.

Pretty slack really given they have previously been so good at responding to threads like this.

Looks like their linux mirror server is dead as well. Probably a low priority for them, but it would be good to get it back online soon.
