We're currently on the HFC/Cable network in Wellington, but we're about to move (from Berhampore down the road to Island Bay). I understand that Island Bay cable has some particular problems, but we've largely been pretty happy with cable and keen to shift it to the new property - and before anyone says it, fibre is *years* away. I've confirmed using the address checker that cable is available at the new property. It even looks as though cable has been wired in at some stage - there's a thick black two core cable running in off the street - but I'm not an expert on this.

I've found the moving form on Vodafone's website but I'm not fully clear if this applies to cable or not. If HFC has previously been wired in to the property, do I need to book at tech call out, or can I install the modem myself and just phone up to have it provisioned?

And I'm very *very* keen to keep my current Cisco modem - no technicolor all-in-one-with-no-bridge-mode for me, thanks very much.

I believe the cable still needs to be connected at the box on the street, incl phoneline

The capacity upgrades on the nodes will be done by the time you move so the service will be fine. Suggest getting relocation request in ASAP.

Thanks Dylan!

Do I just use the normal form, or is there a specific HFC one?

And can I please keep my Cisco?

Yeah, the online form should be fine, unless it specifically says otherwise (I don't think it does but haven't checked recently)

I'm sure you can keep the cisco, I don't see any reason to change it. You might want to switch to a docsis 3.1 modem when that happens....
