Hi all,

Just wanted to ask a question, I'm at my mother-in-law's place in Christchurch for the week, she just moved in a couple of months ago.

I noticed by the door a TelstraSaturn box, so was wondering whether Cable was avaliable at her place. According to http://ufb.org.nz/maps/ and Vodafone's website, Cable isn't avaliable, but it makes me wonder what the TelstraSaturn box would be then...

She signed up with Spark, who gave her a "Wireless Broadband" plan which is a bit more expensive than she was paying at her old house. http://www.spark.co.nz/shop/internet/wirelessbroadband/

Apparently she was told that's all she could get at her house, which makes me wonder if Vodafone Cable is actually avaliable, and wired up in the house already instead of Chorus wiring.

If anyone could provide insight that would be great, it would be good to get her off the Wireless Broadband if possible, because it looks very expensive if she exceeds the 80GB data, as there is no unlimited option.

Goto Vodafone's website and try the address checker if you want to be sure

The Vodafone address checker says that Cable isn't avaliable as mentioned in the OP.

It's on Yaldhurst Road, across the road from the Racecourse.

Unlikely to have cable but is a Chorus VDSL and an Enable UFB area. I'm in a business nearby that used to be connected to TelstraClear copper but now on Chorus.

EDIT: You need to call Spark.
