Man, I am getting terrible performance.

Yesterday I had a Ultra Fast Cable 50 service commissioned for a property in Pegasus Christchurch (Vodafone cable is the only service available). After several hours trouble shooting it would appear speeds barely get above 2 mbps down.

FYI. If I test against a local vodafone server, it looks all fine at 50/2. Its just when ever you step outside the Vodafone infrastructure things get woeful, which practically means any internet use.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

There's an area-wide fault in Christchurch at the moment, just started yesterday so if your connection just started yesterday that would be it.

We've been getting significantly slower internet than normal this weekend. I noticed it yesterday afternoon as Youtube was constantly buffering. We're on cable on a grandfathered plan (110Mbps I think) in the Hei Hei area of Christchurch. Speed tests to the local Vodafone server has maxed at about 80 when normally it goes right to 110 and tests to Auckland servers have been very variable. One showed about 60 while multiple others have maxed at about 5Mbps so something strange looks to be going on.

Downloading from Usenet has peaked at about 6MBps when normally it will go up to 8MBps (what I artificially limit it to).

Here's a test to the Spark Auckland server for example:

The Vodafone site does list a couple of issues in Christchurch but no specific details on them.

I've noticed incredibly poor international speeds over the last 2 days, I mean, REALLY bad.  Also Christchurch, cable.

Here is downloading a file from one of my Amazon servers to my Cable connection...

Just gone to the Facebook page, someone from Vodafone has responded to multiple people complaining about their Cable connections. They have confirmed there is a problem but no eta on a fix at the moment.

Lesson to self, always check the Facebook page first!

A few days? I would hope it's fixed a lot quicker than that.

Will fibre ever come to Pegasus, I wonder.

I've run into that as well. About 3Mbps down to everywhere except Vodafone's Speedtest server since late Saturday night. Opened a ticket with them, and now waiting for something magical to occur. (But I'm secretly really waiting on the initial scope visit later this week to get fibre installed, so I'll finally have more internet options than ADSL1 or cable)

(That's from wifi on my phone - desktop results are about the same)

It seems to mostly affect international sites. Gosh it's frustrating. I don't just think it's just a speed loss, its packet loss

Alot of business's rely on cable. Sort it Voda!

Vodafone were told to lay duct that other providers can use (eg, Chorus, Enable etc) however there has been zero interest from these companies to bring service to Pegasus. From what I understand also there has been complaints going on for years regarding the internet speed around there too.
