Can I get Vodafone's always connected data on a Vodem / 4G (or even 3G) data stick? I already have a mobile with an eligible plan, it would just be more convenient not to have to re-route everything via a phone then change it all back again a few hours later.

Ideally, I'm looking for a zero/minimal monthly cost plan, since this is just a backup for outages, it's not intended for primary usage. I can spring for the data stick itself.

Have you have registered your Vodem account in My Vodafone with your BB?

Just double checking in our KB, if your Vodem is an On Account plan then the answer is yes, Prepay = no.

Thanks @mikehales. I don't even have a vodem. We're on FibreX in Island Bay (the infamous WKH node) which seems to have some ongoing issues: https://smokeping.murfy.nz/smokeping.fcgi?target=FibreX. I was just looking for a way to mitigate some... expressions of dissatisfaction. But I don't think I can justify a monthly on account plan just for a fallback option.

Prepay Data plan ' PrepayData ' can't have always connected added, Use a Prepay SIM on a Voice plan like Pay&Go and always connected can be added

Thanks @linux. Apologies if it's a dumb question, but does a "voice" SIM card / SIM card on a non-data-only plan work in a vodem stick?

A SIM card is a SIM card as long as it's active it will work in a Vodem
