Over the last week or so we've noticed an increase of SPAM emails on our Vodafone hosted ihug email account.

Funnily the emails are tagged with [SPAM] in the subject but they are still appearing in the inbox.

Has anyone else experienced this? Has a change occurred on the Vodafone systems?

Thanks

I've got an old (rarely used) clearnet email account that has been receiving 2 or 3 spam messages a day in the last couple of weeks.  (Not tagged with [SPAM] though.)

Yes, have had this issue for a number of weeks. Vodafone is aware (about me, as well as number of other users using clearnet, paradise emails) and currently looking into fixing it.

The issue I'm (and perhaps the others) experiencing is SPAM gone from 1 to 2 emails right up to 50-60 emails a day.

IMHO, I would much rather receive them "spam" emails, over the past few days, I've had around 20 emails marked spam which are obviously spam AND some emails from other I haven't heard from in years that arn't spam, so like it is at the moment it is letting genuine emails arrive.

I hope so! I don't like opening Outlook in the morning to find ~30 emails, with only 2 - 4 genuine ones.

Hi tchart

I was advised some days ago that I should notice a decrease of SPAM hitting my email account, which was true. However, yesterday and so far today it seems I'm getting as much spam as I was before raising the issue with Vodafone. Is that the same situation for you?

Threads like this always make me very happy I ditched ISP email years ago (hell, I think I could almost say "decades" ago... well, a decade at least ;-) )

Darn, I wish that is the situation with me. I just opened Outlook and got 12 more messages. Outlook was opened previously about 30 mins ago and at that time I got around 6.

I am drowning in SPAM the initial surge quietened down but today I received approx 3 score and 10, too many to return to missedspam@paradise.net.nz so I just deleted them.  The SPAM situation is really bad currently and Voda need to address the issue.
