I think you're possibly confusing two different issues here.


If you can't log in (can you ping?) your router then the issue lies with the router or your internal network. A fault on the cable network can't prevent you from accessing your router locally on your LAN.


If you can access your router but have no Internet access beyond that, then that is an issue on the cable network itself.
