sbiddle: I don't care about Live! - I just want data at reasonable rates so I can use real internet services on my phone (such as Stuff) and not be forced into paying a few $ just to do this.

I'll second that opinion.

I walked away from a meeting yesterday a little stunned - our LEC contact gave us free 20MB data plans on 6 of our 9 smartphones for the next 12 months.  Nice one, dude!  The boss was a bit worried about the monthly data costs, as I'd setup all the smartphones for OTA access to our Exchange Server.

BEan counters running the company:

"What? Reasonable price will drive usage up and we profit in the small pieces? Unbelievable. No,"

20 MB? For Direct Push? You should have asked for 100 MB. I have Direct Push enabled  on my Windows Mobile device, and I use about 90 MB a month with this plus light browsing on the device.

20 MB... Hmmmp. This is a drop in the bucket.

Mobile operators are dumb.

Back on topic - it looks ugly. Sorry, but it does.

So then bebo is free?
As I don't see anywhere where it tells me that it costs... but still this morning my credit had gone down and bebo was the only place I went to.

And I also agree that the new look isn't really web 2.0 but for a NZ site it's doing pretty good, as most of our sites aren't really what you would call award winning :(

Someone reported a billing error where Vodafone was incorrectly charging for traffic to Bebo on Vodafone live!

Complain.

Yes I will do that, thanks! (you will save my $2 I spent on it)

Another thing that doesn't seem to work on my phone is:
"Fun for your phone"
It comes up with:
Your request for a service could not be fulfilled. Please try again or contact your operator if the problem persists.

I would email Vodafone, but it will probably be a week before I hear back from them, so ill see where I get from posting it here.

It looks all "ipod"... Problem is it's broken on my stock Nokia 6234. (flagship phone)

The text which should be white is black. rendering most stuff unreadable. The garish red colour scheme does not work with the "glass" look either.

I think you will find, if you have signed up for what I think you have (Okta Agent free email for one year) only a fair use policy applies, so there isn't a 20MB cap. As long as you don't use your mobile as a mobile modem, then you should be fine.

Oh, LEC... This discussion is about Vodafone, on a Vodafone forum, so I didn't click. Yes, Telecom is doing a great offer for free e-mail data. It's not 20 MB at all.

Hi all, it appears we are having some issues with the Vodafone live! platform. Some URLs are charging despite being set not to charge.

We apologise for the inconvenience - if any of you think you have been charged and think you shouldn't have been, please ring the call centre on 777 and explain the situation. They are aware of the issue and will refund, once they've validated the data usage.

Cheers

Paul

QFT. Whats the point? it reminds be of the old Xtra days - who remembers Xtraville? just give us access to the internet at a reasonable rate, theres PLENTY of (much better) content out there already - Vodafone don't need to supply their own proprietary version.
