Trying to get VMC 9.2.5.8330 (latest version) with a Huawei E800 working properly for a number of users... Has some serious annoyances...

When running, the software creates 2 log files at a rate of about 10KB per minute! These sit in User\Appplication Data\Vodafone\Vodafone Mobile Conect\Log\ and get bigger and bigger and bigger. At 20MB they exceed our users profile space!!!!1

There is no option to turn off logging and VMC won't run if you make them read only...

Also you cannot delete the vodafone APN in this latest version of the software- we have our own very expensive APN and do not want to ever use the vodafone one!

Gah any ideas?

I'm going to try VMC lite as a possible fix, but it's not very reliable so far...

Update: the VMCLite 3.1.2.104 that *comes* on the modem (it sees it as a CD-ROM) is not too bad once you reassign the drive letter. I got it working well although it had to be installed as both admin and user. It has few options but seems to work well in basic mode. Needs to be set to run at startup however, because it doesn't install an entry in the start menu and users do not know where to look to start it manually.

On to the next problem...

Note the apparently higher version (9.3.0.9237) pointed to by johnr in message 126334 at http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=40&TopicId=21353
