If you have moved your number from Postpay to Prepay or Prepay to Postpay you will be unable to do Mobile Number Transfer or Transfer of Title in the future.



But you can still port your number to another provider right ?

In theory couldn't you port to Telecom, and then back to Vodafone to setup that number on a new account ?
Might cost a bit I guess, but possible in theory ?

Just FYI, I went along with my Mrs to switch her from YouChoose 20 -> Prepay on Saturday.

The CSR in the store was really helpful, as none of the CSRs there had ever done a switch that way before, but he worked it out. The process in the store took around 10 mins, and her phone was on prepay about 2 hours later. Perhaps they have a smaller pile of people wanting to go from Account->Prepay?

Anyway, once I clear my bill, I'm getting off of Mega also..

This is Great news to hear!, it took 2hours to change from account to Pre pay? was there any fine incurr for getting out of your you choose 20 contract?

Nope that had long expired. Yea the change happened pretty quickly, maybe even faster than 2 hours.. You will definitely have to pay something if you're still in a contract thou Danny ^^

Dude how do you know my Name? also which store did ya go to? i asume you are in chch.. i might pop in the same store you went to and get it transfer from the same person that did yours

I went through this process yesterday as well.  After checking Vodafone's web site, it said there was a store at the St. Lukes shopping mall, which was convenient for me.

So, after entering the mall I spotted the Vodafone logo above an enclosed area in the middle of the aisle between shops and headed over there.  Yep, the guy said, you can definitely do that, I just have to find the right form.  He hunted around for a while but eventually said that I would have to head upstairs to the "other" store there as they had more forms than he did.

So, upstairs I went and sure enough, there was a similar enclosed area bearing the Vodafone logo.  Again the guy said, Yes, you can definitely do that, but after asking around his colleagues, said that No, they didn't have the correct form, and I would need to go downstairs to their other store there.  BUT, I've just been there I said, and they sent me up to you!

Oh, he said, in that case, you will need to go to the actual Vodafone store because we are just a franchise.  It was at this point I noticed the "Digital Mobile" labels on the shirts of all the staff, alongside the Vodafone logo.  He explained that there are in fact 3 Vodafone stores in St. Lukes, and told me how to find the other one.  Talk about confusing!

I must say here that I was a bit puzzled by the fact that Any Form should be needed At All.  Prepay does not need a contract and my On Account contract had expired 3 months earlier so it did not make any sense that a form should be needed.  Surely it should all be done on-line in 2008???

So, after finding the third Vodafone store, I talked to a woman who really knew her stuff and she had me switched over to Prepay within 5 minutes, just by using her computer terminal.  No Forms Required!  She also commented that the staff at Digital Mobile should have been able to do the switch for me, had they known what to do.

I was told to watch out for the network going down, after which time I needed to switch my phone off, then on again, and Voila! I would be on Prepay.

As it happened, I was walking around the mall and doing other things rather than watching my phone, so, in spite of checking several times, I didn't see the network go down at all.  My wife tried to call me during this time and got a message that said:

"Welcome to Vodafone.  We cannot determine your number so please enter it followed by the Hash Key".

Of course, she found that a bit confusing, and was about to try again when I arrived to pick her up.  As soon as I got home, I tried dialling my mobile number from our landline and heard the message for myself.  Obviously, my number had been changed in Vodafone's system, and I now needed to switch my phone off then on again as instructed.

And so it was.  After my phone restarted, I dialled 777 and sure enough, I was on Prepay Motormouth, just as I had requested.  Then loaded some credit onto my phone via Hotlink from my wife's mobile and away we went.  Even scored an extra 20% topup courtesy of the special deal which expired yesterday.

Oh that's good, I didn't realise you could still join Motormouth Prepay..good to know :)
The pricing for calls to landlines is fantastic compared to the other plans.

You can no longer sign up to a Classic plan, but getting onto Supa Prepay has never been easier.


I think it meant that you couldn't directly signup for Motormouth, and that you will get Supa Prepay at first and can then switch plans.
It is slightly confusing though...
