Okily Dokily....back up and running full speed...no dramas

I do notice an error with the info displayed in the usage meter though...Mav, can you confirm?

Since signing up early this morning, I have used bandwidth only during the hours of 12am and 4am.....

The 'Details' screen confirms that displaying 0.03 download and 0.01 upload in the 'offpeak' section.....

But the main usage meter screen displays 'Accountable data' as: 0.04.....and the 'Cost to date' has gone up to reflect that....and the 'Free data' total has not gone up at all....

So what has happened, is the offpeak data I used has been counted in the 'Peak/charged' total (accountable), and I have been charged for data that is meant to be free.

Whats the story Mav?

A bit buggy, fix coming soon?

I think you will find that Mav has said previsouly, you get rolled onto the new plan the next time midnight comes around after you sign up, thus from midnight tonight you will be on the torrent plan.

Data between 12-8 is always offpeak, no matter what plan you are on

I dont see why there would be 1 day descrepency before the plan kicks in...thats just confusing for customers...but it would appear to make sence right now...I just did the math...

Intial River cost = $33.95
Usage meter charge total = $34.01
Difference = $0.06
Data used so far = 0.06GB/60MB
$0.06 % 60 = $0.001/1 tenth of a cent

Which is the pricing for a normal plan, not the Torrent plan, which would had charged $0.015 per MB

I will watch with interest this coming morning for the changes then.

Filterer: either their reporting is quite far behind or the new "month" doesn't flick around at midnight as you might expect. Will see later today if my offpeak usage has caught up

hey. ok at around 1am in the morning my speed went up. i downoad at 200kb/sec but thats always the maximum i achieve. im always suprised on how u guys get it at 800 and so on. well, i have a small concern regarding the usage meter. my usage for 1am onwards (off peak) did not show in the meter until today late morning, but what im wondering about is in the usage meter where it says cost to date, the price is inclusive of what i have used off peak. what is going on? Should i ignore that or what? but when i press details, it shows my usage as off peak. Just that the usage is including off peak data usage into the charges. anyone can comment please?

Hi, I dont think thats right, are u saying that eventhough i went into viewbill at 12am and changed it to the torrent plan, i am still using my old plan until tomorrow? When i called Xnet 2 days ago, they told me if i changed my plan on viewbill it is instant. hmmm. this is very confusing indeed. What plan are you on filterer? If on torrent plan, does off peak usage show up and included in ya usage meter CHARGES as well?

Have you worked out the math?

I see ya state exactly the same issues as me, and jump up and down rather than trying to figure it, or properly read other posts that possibly have the answers...your going to go bald with stress very quickly son.

I am not going to worry just yet, while I do think it is confusing for the customer to have to wait 24 hours before the plan changes (if that is the case) even though the usage meter changed immediately and shows the columns to display as such (confusing the customer further into thinking they have changed to the torrent plan, but apparently not?)

If you want to try to figure it out, maybe do a little math as I did above, and work out what rate you have been charged for data consumed to-date....this in theroy will tell you what plan you are currently on as if it works out your being charged $0.001 per MB, then that is a normal plan...if your being charged $0.015 per MB, then you have been charged to the Torrent plan...

I am happy to wait another day to see if this kicks in properly before kicking up a fuss...I suggest you give it a chance to.

I can't find why I thought the plan only took effect after midnight. However its only 24 hours if you singed up at 12.01 am. I signed up at 10pm, that means I as soon as the first midnight rolls around (2 hours later) I have free off peak traffic.

Granted, if the display on the usage meter changes then this is a little confusing

i have calculated it as bartender has. He is right i was charged on the old plan. But does that mean i will be overcharged on my invoice? Or will Xnet rectify this and put this usage under the new plan for me?

Lets wait and see after tonight, if changes take place with the current data used/charged for etc...

If what has been used in the 24 hours since signing up/changing to plan is still charged for, I think then there will be reason for complaint, as the 24 hour plan implementation delay is not advised at all on the signup page, so data downloaded during that time (offpeak) should not be charged for as the plan states.

That said, I spose its only really worth making an issue of and the stress that comes with as such, if you have downloaded heavily on the very first day/offpeak session.

Myself, I downloaded nothing this morning offpeak as speed was still dial-up and I had issues with my p2p program and NAS device....but all good now, ready and waiting.

well i have been using downloads and so on so i hope Xnet will realise its something wrong on their side. It is 1.38am and has been more than 24 hours and now it is unknown as to what plan I am on as the usage meter now says N/A for this plan. Sheesh! On the viewbill it says Torent plan but it has been there since i signed up. Just keeping my fingers crossed and hope i do not incur any charges. Or else ill have to waste my time on the phone again.

I hear ya.

Its now 1:47 and I see no changes to the 'Free Data' or a correction in the 'Cost to date'....

Furthermore, I notice the figures are not adding up, I have 0.18GB total in the usage meter, but 0.20GB in the details screen...(Peak 0.16GB/Offpeak 0.04)

I am sure it will be just some minor bugs that need ironing out, and Mav will fill us in/reply on Monday...

No matter what, dont worry bud, the bill will be fine, just keep track of what ya use and when for your own record.
Also, look in the 'History' screen, and change the dates and times to get a gauge of whats happening...

No worrys.

Download hard!....I'm struggling to browse the web and post here right now, my connection is maxing out that hard!

Yeah the meter looks a bit buggy atm. Says 0.00 on everything and cost is "N/A for this plan"

One will be correct and the other will have accumulated rounding errors.  Your bill is also full of rounding errors.  On your bill they round each line but the total is calculated with the exact values.  Confused me the first time I got my bill.

By the way, it looks like they have identified a problem as the old Firefox usage meter is also down for non-Torrent customers.  Strange it is not stated on their network status page; probably because it is long weekend.

I would not worry about the usage, I'm sure it will get sorted next week.  They have the usage logs, it is just a matter of applying the correct formula.  We are with XNet, not some/most of the other ISPs.

Hmmm...now says 0.00 on everything and cost is "N/A for this plan" as others have stated above.

I have no concerns, know it is just buggy and will be fixed...disapointing that xnet would release something so buggy though, practically completely useless at this point.

Furthermore, since signing up for this plan, I have been unable to get into the 'Accounts' section at all...so I cant view any stats there either currently.

This is all just a little poor I think.
