Thought I'd post this here to see if someone can point out what am I missing from a setup.

Last weekend I attempted a site install for a client of a USG + AC-Lite AP on Vodafone Fibre. These devices were to be adopted by a cloud controller I have running on Digital Ocean (I have the same setup at home without an issue on Bigpipe).

After messing about with the CLI on the USG to connect it to VLAN10 on the WAN1 port, I could then adopt and provision the devices (the AP is connected to LAN1 port on USG). But then, after about 10 minutes, all network connectivity stops. No error message I could see in the console, nothing weird. It simply... stops.

I brought all the gear back home, set up VLAN10 tag on a switch port on my bench and had both devices running for about 36 hours in the same way they would at the site. No failures.

Folks with USGs on Vodafone Fibre: did you have to do anything specific to your USG to make it work? Is your controller local or remote to the site?

PS: I'm attempting another install today (Sat-26) in a few hours.

For completeness, I made it work by factory resetting the USG, then logging in via SSH and issuing the following commands:

edit interfaces ethernet eth0

delete address

delete firewall

set vif 10 address dhcp

set vif 10 firewall in name WAN_IN

set vif 10 firewall local name WAN_LOCAL

set-inform http://<my controller URL here>:8080/inform
