Geektastic: I've been with VF for about 8 years and every time they've increased data on new plans, they've increased it in the existing versions of the same plan to match as far as I can recall.

Is that not happening this time?

 

 

 

Sorry to say you be stuck with what you have until you contract  is run out as they not doing what they done in past this time. Check his already with retention and they saying no change to those that on 2 yr contracts without paying early termination fees best they can do is give 2 yrs 5 gig bonus data.

I just rang VF to enquire about the new plans.

 

I currently have Red Essentials with Tablet Share. This plan currently comes with 7.5GB data.

 

I always assumed this 7.5GB was shared with my tablet, but no, I am assured that my tablet SIM only has 500MB.

 

If I want my tablet to use anything above the 500MB then I have to hotspot it to my phone. 

 

It would seem VF and I have a different idea of what the word "share" means.

 

These new plans are all useless to me if I cant share the data with my tablet SIM.

 

Indeed my current plan is equally useless.





Life is too short to remove USB safely.

Go into a store to get it working correctly.

 

Red Essentials does come with the ability to 'tablet share'. The tablet sim card just needs to be linked to your Red Essentials plan. Sounds like yours is not.

I will probably go instore, if only because after having to talk to 3 different VF representatives I am no closer to knowing what my options are.





Life is too short to remove USB safely.

maybe cause some people that were on the plans (like me ) were receiving quite a big discount and they wouldn't want people getting so much data for so cheap so they bought out new plans when you call up about them they tell you that you will loose your discount if you change to the new plan.

I tried calling customer "service" and after waiting 10 minutes the girl on the other end said the 10GB was a special promotion and I would need go through to sales.

 

She apparently transferred me but I was given a message saying I couldn't be transferred (after another 5 minute wait) and disconnected.

What's the discount you get? I am getting a $20 discount so I pay $39.99 for unlimited calls and 4GB.

@BLazeD The 10GB plan is not a promotion and is permanent as confirmed by VodafoneNZ here on Geekzone

Any discounts you have on the 4GB plan will be removed moving to 10GB I was lucky got in early and get it for $49.95 per month

Surely if you are on an open term plan it you will get the new data allowance when the plan rolls around as the term is for 1 month?  There is no 24 month contract with these.

@BLazeD The 10GB plan is not a promotion and is permanent as confirmed by VodafoneNZ here on Geekzone

Any discounts you have on the 4GB plan will be removed moving to 10GB I was lucky got in early and get it for $49.95 per month

Thanks I just called 0800 777 301 and said I wanted to get my extra data and it was done in 1 minute flat. I kept my $10 discount.

 

Very happy with this. Good job Vodafone.
