A couple of days ago my BB stopped working all of a sudden.

I checked cables etc.  I phoned Telstra who proceed to go through there tests and resets etc, this didn't fix it.

The problem is I can ping the static IP but the request times out for the defult gateway.

I have changed modems, I have changed computers, I have changed the network cable from the modem to the computer, I have uninstalled my antivirus and my firewall, I have disabled the windows firewall (which would make hardly any difference anyway) and each time I made a change I have rung Telstra to run through all the tests etc.

Still no go.

Big HELP please.

Ask TelstraClear to send a technician - it sounds like something outside your network is broken.

Agreed. In my not so humble opinion you have completed (and exceeded) all the reasonable requirements for a customer to troubleshoot, before the company should get involved and sort it for you.

Thanks, as a last resort I am taking my laptop home from work tonight to try to get it to work on that.  Telstra seem to think that even though I have tried it on two different computers that the prob is on my pc.  Funny thing is, in my desperation I even reformated and loaded a fresh copy of Windows XP on one of the computers and what do you know, it still doesn't work.

I will keep you posted.
