Basically I already own a Dlink 502T ADSL Router, as far as i know this does not have QoS. And a DLink Wireless AP/Switch. I have just signed up to Xnets Fusion service and need to figure out my best hardware options to get everthing running smoothly.
If I purchased the SPA2102 and setup my network as follows, would it run smoothly in terms of QoS and the bandwidth issues I have read about the SPA2102.
Internet <> Dlink 502T (No QoS) <> Wan side SPA2102 Lan side <> Dlink AP/Switch <> Computers / Consoles etc
If the network is configured in this manner and data is leaving the network towards the internet. Can the SPA2102 do the QoS work and pass the packets to the 502T and work effectivly? Or will the DLink wipe the QoS functionality when it gets given the packets from the SPA2102, effectively making QoS non functional on the network?
If this setup is not going to work then will my best option be to just purchase a Modem that has QoS functionality and still run the SPA2102? Or would I be better off purchasing the all in one type solution like the WAG54GP2v2?
SPA2102 + new modem = getting close price wise to a WAG54GP2v2.
Also if the SPA2102 is going to have the bandwidth issues that I have read about in other posts when working as a router (CPU = too slow) then perhaps my best option overall is the WAG54GP2v2?
Any advice would be great on these issues.
Hope this makes some sence! Thanks.
