With the new data going up lately, my grand-fathered spark Spotify prepay plan is looking old and after this holiday running out of data (and other time running out too), I think it time to look at my option again. One thing I like with spark is the auto-renew - at end of the period, it charges my credit card $19 and renews for next period - no need to remember to top up every month and no overcharging at massive ripoff rate on pay as you go if you run out 1 day before renew as my account is always at $0, so cannot be charged. Looking at Vodafone flex prepay plan, I like what I can get, but I am not seeing an option for auto-renew, just top up if the balance is below $5 - does Vodafone have a way to auto-renew like spark, as this will be a deal breaker if it does not.

You can call Vodafone and request ' Casual data ' to be removed so once any included data is used up data just stops and no casual charging

The only option you have is the auto top-up you have seen on the below page

so what happens if your plan is $19 and your current balance is $18 - so can not renew due to $1 sort, but not got down to the $5 topup?

I have my daughter on a VF pre-pay and setup an auto top-up through their self help web site.

It flat out does not work. I have to go into the web site and press the top-up button.

You could also change to one of the new Spark plans and keep the auto top-up features your enjoying today?

Look like that rules out Vodafone then, life too busy to have to worry about micromanaging my balance every 28 days - with spark, it has failed 2 times in the 3 - 4 years that I had it setup - once due to a new credit card and not updating details, and once due to max out credit card - if there no set and forget option, then it not a plan for me. (Would have changed to Vodafone if it was not for the no set and forget option if any Vodafone marketing people are reading)

yeah - was just checking out my options - do not like 50% Spotify so would not be using it and load up the phone with MP3 when out and going back to ads Spotify at home, so was looking at data options.

thanks - will also be the same for my father too - he still on spark one plan due to 1 bill thing, but was thinking about changing due to 500mb, most like will do spark auto-renew plan now. (he also like the idea of different provider then mum due to traveling in the campervan a lot and there a lot of good spark no vodafone and good vodafone and no spark coverage around)

That's also an option - you don't need to take the Spotify component.

Hope that helps.

yes, but it will be marketing people pushing the techie on why they cannot do this now and how much would it cost to fix this issue as it losing us customers, then they will do a cost vs benefit from marketing, and if the benefit is better then the cost, start jumping up and down to get it done. With all the back end changes happening with VoLTE and sharing cell sites with spark & 2D the cost most like has come down a lot since the last time it was looked at with the newer systems in place, and it a problem that can be solved - after all spark has done it.

yep, and looking likely to be the option I will take, still need to look into skinny - rule out 2D due to roaming to Vodafone -  last time on that it was a pain at the crossover places and we lived on one and it was switching all the time or not switch at all and not getting throughput & site needing to re-login  every 5 min due to changing ip address etc, when 2D has a network the size of Spark & Vodafone will look at them again.

Just yesterday I found my sons mobile had not auto-topped up (probably for some time).  I had an absolutely nightmare of a time trying to top up (the website top-up services and mobile app were simply not working).  I was far from impressed with my first vodafone experience in years.
