I have not had much joy from the customer services team at VF while trying to confirm if there is some kind of text only plan available from vodafone. Their standard response was to go into a store and ask.

Don't require voice or data services at all JUST text. Under prepay, the cheapest I can seem to confirm is the normal $13 plan that still a small allocation of voice/data.

2D/WH have plans/packs at $4-$9
Spark seems to have plans available around $8

Does VF have any similar kind of plan (either prepay or on account)

Cheers

@sampler

Apologies but no TXT-only plans at all. Best we could do would be Flexi Data with minimal calls and data at $13 per month (unlimited TXTs).

@sampler look at Pay&Go not sure why you are trying to call when all the Prepay plans are online in one simple place on the VodafoneNZ site

https://www.vodafone.co.nz/prepay/pay-and-go/

Or try Warehouse mobile that uses the 2Degrees network

Was just trying to cover all bases, as a number of other carriers still can provide a "txt only" plan/pack etc in different ways. I guess the $13 plan is the direction ill need to head in.

Vodafone dumped their 1c TXT plan (the old Prepay & Go linked above) because they're a) greedy and b) it was being abused by some people to run commercial services.

One assumes they're simply not offered in offering a cheap service any longer than can be used commercially.

Main difference between WHM and VodafoneNZ Pay&Go is of course pricing and credit expiry after each top-up

The 1 cent offer was always a temporary and only meant to be in place for 90 days but it carried on much longer

Pay&Go was in market well before WHM was around

Correct but they reduced the price of texts about the same time that warehouse mobile launched.

Assuming that you want to do some sort of TXT based marketing. It would probably be against the terms of an unlimited TXT plan to do so. And it would be easy for Vodafone to figure out if you are doing so. They just need to look at the ratio of TXT sent Vs TXT received by your device.
