Totally theoretical situation.....

Lets say I have my home line and Internet with Vodafone...... I then join the Xnet Fusion plan and tell Xnet not to worry about porting my number, Ill take a new number. They swap me over and all is running well with a new phone number via Xnet etc...

Then a few days/weeks later I go "oh crap, I NEED my old number back for xxxx reason".

Is it actually possible to get that number ported to Xnet Fusion although the original port/number has been "thrown back" into the pool ? (Obviously assuming Telecom hasnt assigned it to someone else).

Generally no, once you religuish the number it is back in the pool, there may be some exceptions but work on hang on to the number where you can if you want to keep it

Possibly you could get it back if you talked to Telecom nicely. You would need to set an account up with them and have this number setup with them as a "customer link" number. You could then port it after that.

No guarantees here though, and you would only be able to do this with Telecom (assuming they were the original issuer of the number).

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
