if you read the sunday star times newspaper over the weekened it had an article about joan withers who is the fairfax media nz ceo. she said she has an iPhone and she called the vodafone ceo russell stanners to check if it is okay to use on the vodafone network and he said yes. first of all did she have an iPhone 3g or the older iPhone and was the iPhone using  jailbreak(unlocks the iPhone to work on any network) or did she have an official iPhone from vodafone?

interesting that this article is not on the sunday star times website.

It won't be an iphone 3g. Vodafone would be ripped to shreds by apple if they gave even one out early.

I am fairly sure it was a jail-broken 2G phone ( thats why she asked Vfone if it was OK to use)

It was referenced in one of the discussions here and it's an iPhone first generation - which shows how disconnected the journalists are...

she said she uses itunes to download music videos to her iPhone so can the iPhone with jailbreak do this? i wonder if she is gonna get an iPhone 3g.
hey so can she remove jailbreak from her iPhone once vodafone launches it's iPhone because there would be no need for her iPhone to be unlocked then would it or won't the iPhone first generation work on vodafone without jailbreak?
