Anyone know if:

1. We can keep our current on account numbers?
2. Won't the delays tonight at the midnight opening be massive since everyone needs to sign up, provide details, credit etc? If I go I wanna be in and out.

Cheers.

If they have to provide you with a new SIM, they can just port the number accross easily to that. Otherwise, there hasn't been any issue in the past reassigning on account numbers to new SIM cards.

And for 2, when I resigned recently to Youchoose $30.00 plan (gah 2 months ago :/) it only took 10 minutes to resign and sign the contract. Add in another 5 minutes or so for the actual purchase, should be all fine.

Though brandnew to contract people may take some time - IIRC, when I signed up to mobile broadband, I had to wait for mine to be approved / credit checked before my account was activated.

And given that activation for the iPhone occurs at the users home / elsewhere than at the store, it should be fine. Paperwork + pay = gone.

FYI, from Vodafone:

If you are going to sign into a term contract then please bring two forms of I.D and a statement showing your address. If you a just purchasing the iPhone (outright) then you do not require anything.

Yeah, I emailed them to ask, because I didn't want to be caught out!
