Hi guys,
This morning I checked my usage (Xnet Fusion), and according to the `usage history`, I used about 6 GB overnight. But that`s impossible, cos my computer is never even switched on at night, as it`s in my bedroom. So I`m thinking maybe there is a delay of around half a day between actual usage and the usage monitor?

Or is it possible that using a proxy server can have this effect, if the proxy server is in a completely different timezone?

It`s very hard for me to monitor my usage if there is such a massive delay.

This morning it`s even worse. This is awful. How the hell am I supposed to watch my usage like this? Last night I was told one thing, I switch off the computer, turn it back on this morning and I`m at 2 GB more. This is completely ridiculous.

When I made my first post, I asked Xnet Helpdesk and they confirmed that the usage monitor was about 12 hours late. This morning it`s back and even worse. It has nothing to do with my PC, because when I log into XNET and have a look at my usage there, I get the same.

I`m gonna ask Helpdesk what`s going on, it`s very hard to plan your usage when this sort of stuff happens.

Just out of curiosity your router/modem wouldnt have wireless whereby somebody close by could be using your connection? Just a thought.

Well that was spinny...

I checked my usage meter this morning (from home), and it was 2 GB less than when I checked it at 1pm (from work)... and I have the only computer using the internet connection (laptop) at work...

Then, I stumbled across this post.. hahahaha, so I am getting the delay too.

The monitor is not a realtime service and it does fall behind occasionally, sometimes up to 12 hours (rarely more).  As soon as we notice we get the backup boxes running to catch up usage, which typically takes a day or so.

Thanks for the update.  Is there a place we can go to get the "real" usage rather than rely on the montior?

You can check your usage on Xnet`s site by logging in, but in my experience that will give you similar figures as the little software on your desktop, cos  that`s where this latter one gets updated from every 15 minutes. So no, you can`t get around this, I don`t think.
