I am in Pukekohe and I can't make or receive calls to or from my phone in 3G, 2G is fine. Trying to call others in Auckland, who I assume are on 3G, from my VFX line, goes straight to answerphone too . . .

Thinking about it, for the half hour leading up to this I had numerous dodgy quality calls and more numerous "Connection errors" when trying to place calls . . .

Seems OK from here (Auckland CBD / 3G HTC phone) - been making and receiving calls ok.

How do you find links to that on their site?

Also, I was just reading emails on the phone, and lost signal totally in ellerslie, has being working fine all day up till now so I think something strange is going on. Checking for networks is finding nothing now... Still have 2g signal on the other phone, and have even done the battery out and in routine that vodafone seem to think is an acceptable way of resolving problems.

So they have...

as an asside, on the way back tonight there were people working on the roof of the building beside the jaguar dealer at the campbell road and great south road intersection, but thats not line of sight to here and normally we get a full 3g signal at mums place so no idea if its related of just a fluke. They were up there in the dark and rain so not telecom putting up a new site I would think...

I noticed a problem around lunch time in hamilton as well.
I was was up at the Basse and called in to one of the VF stores there.
They reports several reports of problems as well.

Then I note a news report of a cable been severed in  Auckland ?????
Message on the 777 call centre then came up shortly after as well

The severed cable in Point Chev is unrelated, that only affects landlines in the Point Chev area

The problem is still going - through the afternoon I had intermittent success with sending and receiving calls and texts on 3G, locking to 2G at least gives you a "reliable" service.

In the last hour or 3 they have turned 3G off alltogether out here (Pukekohe / Mission Bush)
