One thing I have observed about Parliament TV on the VTV box: subtitles do not work properly.
Whether watching live, restarting a live show, or replaying a completed show, the subtitles flash on screen too briefly to be read and bear no correlation to what is being spoken at that moment. The subtitle content is clearly for Parliament TV, but from some other very different point in time. Not just out by seconds or minutes; perhaps hours or days?
Edit to add: I noticed subtitles clearly from debate speeches, with references to Madame Chair, during Question Time today. So I had a hunch the subtitles might be from last night. Indeed they were. I just replayed the end of the debate session from last night and heard phrases I'd read on screen (barely, as they disappear quickly) earlier today during live question time.

Please check audio levels on Parliament tv, i note its also poor both through Sky and Freeview satellite during question time. I expect its the audio from parliament tv itself

It is. We’re taking the feed off Freeview and have no control over audio levels.

Yeah issue would be between Production at the Parliament end and Kordia. I might ask them on facebook or twitter
Interesting this just popped up

Hi
Has anyone else had any issues when fast-forwarding through ads with Vodafone tv? We have a nightly issue when watching the 6pm News - when we try to fast-forward through the 2nd set of ads, the show will go back to where the first ads are (when we first used fast-forward). The show will then stop and we are unable to go forward to where we were before. The fix is then starting the show again and fast-forwarding to where we want to be. We normally start watching the show after 7pm.
@Frosty78 few posts above this when watching live TV and issue is getting looked into
So known issue
Hi, about this issue, at first I thought of it as a minor blip, considering the advantage of the fast-forward thumbnails. But now after a few weeks, I find it really annoying, and it is really getting in the way of a flawless experience with the system. Most of the times (if not all), I use the Vodafone TV to restart programs in the middle of the live TV feed.
The fast-forward thumbnail is flaky anyway, very frequently not showing pictures. I was wondering if it would be possible to implement an option to disable the fast-forward system and revert back to the old behavior for those who are not really happy with the way it works. It could be part of the setup just like the subtitles are optional. Anyone else interested?
Thanks.
@orsonguels Have you used the work around? Don't use the FF button use the button above it which is skip 20 seconds

many of us use an alternate remote, harmony or samsung, to control all devices - and with the latter the workaround is not an option.
Sorry, not a workaround for me. Once you reach the "point of no return" it jumps back quite a few minutes and then you can only use the skip trick, but it takes ages to get where you were, going 20 seconds at a time. As I said in my post, far from a flawless experience.
Until they find a solution (if they find it), I'd rather be going with the old fast-forward even with no visual clue.

Yes this is extremely frustrating, causing major fights in the household when it locks up and you have to revert back to the start of the programme and then fast forward, hoping that it doesn't lock up again.
It only seems to have appeared since the thumbnail functionality was introduced so VF should either be fixing it properly or rolling it back. The thumbnails only seem to display images 50% of the time anyway.

Yes, that is exactly my experience. My proposal was not so drastic as to roll back to the previous state, but to make it an option in the setup, giving that many people find the workaround acceptable.

I contacted them on facebook, they said they would look into it. Today the audio was much better volume did NOT have to be adjusted at all during question time. They either cranked up the microphone volumes or the overall audio level.
If I put Sky on the Vodafone TV gen 2, is it a monthly contract or can you cancel anytime after first month?
i.e with Sky direct after first month can cancel any service with no notice, Netflix when cancel have to see out rest of month but can put in cancellation notice ahead of time.
I'm looking at putting Sky on for two months, but after which wish to cancel start up. I got an email with free movies for two months (Just have to pay start up) which makes price reasonable for me, but if cancel before two months it breaks the deal so don't wish to cancel early, but at same time don't wish to be struck paying third month at full price.
If it cancels like Netflix , where I cancel in second month and rest of second month finish's when month up that'll be fine. Or if it cancels straight away can do it a couple days into third month.
Cheers
Edit here's link mentioning free movies, though in email had until end of June.
https://www.vodafone.co.nz/tv/vodafone-tv/
And fine print in Email:
"If you cancel your sky starter or sky movies subscription during 2 month period, you forfeit the offer."
So if have to see out whole month from cancellation then would be stuck with paying full price for third month.
