I believe it follows the same as sky, that is if you have to buy starter + sport or starter + entertainment to get SOHO for free.

I pay for Sky + entertainment via Vodafone tv and definitely don’t get SOHO for free.

Apologies you are right, it's entertainment plus one of movies or sport to get it.

I deleted my post, DMC answered it more gracefully. There's discounts with Vodafone TV offer, looks like more for ones having to change Vodafone TV that were getting Sky Direct charged through Vodafone. Though my personal view functionality limited in freeview recording channels on Vodafone TV compared to  MySky box.

freitasm: Strange the Leader's Debate can't be recorded. I hope catch-up works as I am not sure I will be home by then.

Catch up has worked for me in the past if I couldn't record - however for the leaders debate, we should be spoilt for choice "All debates will be live streamed and available for catch-up viewing on TVNZ OnDemand as well as on the 1 NEWS website, Facebook and YouTube pages."

Cheers!

Yes, we were surprised to see TVNZ not offer catchup on the leaders debate.  But, as you say, there were lots of other options available (and encouraging their customers to those was perhaps that was part of the reason?).  Pure speculation on my part as I've moved onto our initiative to migrate legacy services to VTV.

We were unable to watch catch-up late last night, option wasn't there and couldn't rewind either.

Had to watch it on the TVNZ OnDemand app.

JarrodM: Not sure whether I should start a new post for this but as per an email my parents received from vodafone, they are stopping sky satellite billing through vodafone and offering 2 options: switch to Vodafone tv or switch sky billing back to sky. Just after opinions on the vodafone tv experience? Reading a few pages it still seems like it is less than perfect?
FAQ regarding the switch here https://www.vodafone.co.nz/help/vodafone-tv/vodafone-tv-switching/?mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTnpreFlUbGhZemN5TURoayIsInQiOiJJcDJ6d0VHQVFLeW5xZU40TlkxY0lqMk0xbkRCUCs1a3VaQW1WaWxZNFN2XC9FcStHRFEzSjVycm5UMDdtS1Q0UXJ1d1FLNFNcL1pYbExWNUc0RFpkXC9rczVMWEE3VXNQd2ZFODFzTEVVcVZZK0t3ZFE4cksrZ3NmT1Q4ZjY1M3YyXC8ifQ%3D%3D

Hi @JarrodM and others, I'm the "owner" of this initiative at Vodafone and I think it is probably a good idea to ask this as a separate question/thread so that I can provide focussed feedback on questions there.   I don't think one has been asked on this specifically yet.

We think (micropausing issues aside!) that VTV is a great option for most people with a number of advantages (3 day rewind/catch up being the best).  The migration offer to your parents and other Sky Reseller customers on Fibre also means they get a free VTV box (normally between $150 - $179), don't have to pay for recording, and get a deal on Sky Starter.

We have just put up a tile on the top level menu with a deep link to the leaders debate which launches the  stream on the VTV YouTube app.

While our vendor is developing a permanent fix for the microfreezing issue, the Vodafone NZ Media Operations team have been working on changes to mitigate the issue in the meantime.  Their update yesterday:

We have been tirelessly working on the "micro freezing" (VxOA CC error) issue. Last night (Thurs night) we made another config change on the platform. Looking at logs today, since the change, for the first time it looks like we have made a noticeable improvement. It's not 100% fixed, but looks much better. So please watch some TV over the weekend, and report back your feedback. (If you do see a micro freeze, note the channel and time, check if it is in catchup.)

I've not noticed this issue since last week, and it was fairly regular before then.

Even though you're not in this area any more, you might want to ask someone to update the thread on the Vodafone Community Forums as well - the Forums really appear to be a dead zone for actual interaction with Vodafone, and I think are currently turning people off Vodafone altogether.  Just a heads-up!

Here's some pauses I noticed.

  • Tvnz 1 8:25pm Sunday 20th sept
  • Tvnz1 12:29pm Monday 21 sept
  • Sky 5: 10:36am Tuesday 22nd sept
  • Three: 6:01pm Thursday 24 September

It's certainly improved but still the odd glitch.

I've had more glitches in the last week than I've had since I bought it.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

As above, serious glitches and pauses and failures on multiple channels since just before 9pm tonight.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Thanks for the heads up @GregSands, I'll drop the team a note.  They are very aware the issue isn't yet resolved and are working each day and night with the vendor to find the issue and resolve this microfreezing issue.  Apologies again that it's ongoing.

I’m seeing significantly more micro freezes last 24hrs than the past few weeks. Tv1 yesterday evening 8-9pm, probably a dozen different freezes. Today CNBC 9:20am, multiple freezes.

Each time there is a micro freeze, it takes a few seconds for HD to return.
