I would love for my VTV to actually turn on with the remote.

Yadda Yadda Yadda

Have you Bluetooth paired your remote with VTV?

Having real issues with my VTV G2.  Up until this afternoon the remote/box appeared to drop the pairing at random times.  Bit of a hassle to repair but nothing too stressful.

Just spent the best part of an hour cycling through the pairing algorithm.  no joy.  Do end up with power button on top of remote flashing red constantly when you press any given button for a minute or 2.

Repressing same button (or any other for that matter) has no effect.

Tried the Blue|Menu 9999 reset and then re-pair.  Same result.

Can anybody offer tips on

1) why bluetooth drops out

2) why we can't re-pair

3) why power button flashes for prolonged periods.

Cheers

Do you have any iOS devices in the household? If so disable their Bluetooth whilst you pair the remote

Looking at the website it looks like they are moving to a prepay only setup, doesn't seem to be any mention that I can see of having VTV on-account/pay-monthly

When I use the “rewind” feature to watch something that aired in the recent past, it almost always cuts off before the programme ends - usually about 2-3 minutes before the actual end of the programme. It’s incredibly annoying to be watching something only to miss the end.

Is this happening to everyone, or does my VTV have a fault or a problem with some optional setting somewhere?

It's a 'feature' of the Vodafone TV system. I cop abuse almost every night from someone who encounters the problem.

The only workaround I have found is to 'restart' the program that follows. Invariably we can catch the end of what we were watching.

Thanks, at least I know it’s not just me!

I would have thought it would be a serious enough problem for Vodafone to want to correct quite urgently, but I’ve been experiencing it for quite some time now.

Been like that from day one. I've been cursed daily for foregoing the Sky box a year ago.

They know about it. So I agree that by now a seamless solution would have been rolled out by now.

Maybe something to do with the schedules Vodafone gets from the providers? We seldom watch live or rewind. Recordings always have extra time at the end. I guess that is more difficult for liveish programming because each programme is sandwiched between to two others.
Streaming live TV doesn't seem to be easy.

I guess so.

I’m usually watching a programme that’s already ended, so I’d assumed that I was effectively watching a recording, and also assumed that it should be relatively trivial to add a few minutes to the end to stop it from getting cut off too soon. I’m probably vastly over simplifying it, and it probably doesn’t work at all like I imagine!

Just to jump in here .... I often watch the Rewind programs like Colbert, News, 7 Days, Taskmaster to name a few.  At no time in last 18 months has a program been truncated/cut-off!

All the time.

If you click [Watch catch up] it will work fine. If you click [Restart] it will truncate.

Not sure if I'm on the same wavelength here but I'm with Rickles. Almost every evening we start The Chase at around 5:40 pm, re-start it and skip through the ads. That finishes around 6:20 and we go to One News, re-start and watch that skipping the ads. Haven't had any truncation problems. (These two programmes are the only two FTA programmes we ever watch - and the only thing we use our VTV for.)

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

The way it happens is we click [Restart] and keep watching - skipping ads or not.

The [Restart] will end a couple of minutes before the actual end of the program and it then goes back to live TV.

We then click [Restart] again on the current live TV program to see the last couple of minutes of the previous program, which streams just before the start of the live program.

Note this won't happen with [Catch up].

Fascinating 😏

I'll give it a try later today, but pretty sure everything is fine even when I use Restart, for example, to watch Colbert whilst his 2pm repeat is still running live.
