@jvandervelden19:I left CEC turned on, but turned off the 'auto on' setting. It means I have to turn my soundbar on and off manually now, but at least Vodafone TV works!

When I see 'solutions' like this it reminds me of the line I often use to justify the shortcomings of VTV. "If it was easy to make a box to do this, then more people would make them."
Don't get me started on our smart (when it feels like it) Panasonic stereo!

Kia ora, if you're tryna get one VTV today or in the future, it's not happening because it's out of stock nationwide. Truth is, Vodafone recalled everything that's left in store. I mean, they are finally doing something about it after all my complains for the past 2 years about their gen 2.

I checked Vodafone’s site and one retailer, both show out of stock, looks like something is up.

Not sure what's happening but I did make lots of complains about it since the gen 2 got launched. Mine was still on warranty, I brought it to NL last week since it was in warranty (2 years) and they said they will "repair" it.

But we all know you can't repair firmware issues when Vodafone TV is not bothered to do anything about it. So since they couldn't replace it with one in their stock, I got a gift card for it.

Next we'll be offered complimentary migration to Sky, I aint doing it until their new box is released. I was highly suspicious when TBox customers were migrated to Sky.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, UAP, UAP AC Pro, UAP AC Pro Mesh, Apple TV 4, Apple TV 4K, iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, VodaTV Gen 2. If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Hope note, I have actually found it very reliable - would hate to have to go back to SKY because VTV has some functionality I would miss a lot.

It's a compromise for me too but I'm back with My Sky. It's much more stable, and I'm happy with Sky Go because Vodafone failed to understand that their VTV app broadcast volume is very quiet compared to Sky Go. They keep on blaming me that my phone is at fault when it has been tested and proven with iOS and so many android phones.

Spoken to a few customers of the gen 2 and they've all exclaimed "you could actually watch tv with it?!” Most of them thought it was just a Netflix/YouTube machine, whereas I've been asking for Disney+ and Spark Sport till kingdom come. And 2 years on, nothing happened and I didn't find anything new with it.

Just cause you ask for something to be implemented does not mean they have to! Disney might not want Vodafone selling its service

I received this from Vodafone....

" due to ongoing global supply issues, we have removed VodafoneTV from a number of sales distribution points for the time being. This has been done to ensure that we have plenty of stock available if required by any of our existing VodafoneTV users."

I am not sure about this I have very little faith in the NZ Telcos.

I know it's just speculation, but I hope VTV doesn't get sunset and replaced with Sky. The bit I like about VTV is that I don't need a dish on my roof (meaning no fighting with the landlord to get it installed) as well as the no contract way of doing the Sky services, where if I don't want them I can just cancel rather then being locked in.

If the choice becomes Sky Satellite vs content "acquired" off the internet, I'm not picking Sky.

If Vodafone want to shock everyone and come out with a v3 box that's superior to the v1 and v2 that'd be nice but I'm not hopeful.

I would be disappointed if Vodafone pulled the service, after wailing about what it couldn't do that the old T-Box could I have found that the functionality of the VTV Gen 2 box is great, stability is great and the responsiveness of the controller far exceeds the old T-Box controller. I suspect that the fact that there are no boxes in store is more due to the shortage of semiconductors and supply chain issues. We are at the bottom of the world or is it part of a COP 26 plot to control global climate change will there be no iPhones next.

I agree with all your comments. We have not had any problems with the VTV. I hope previous comments are just rumours and that someone from vodafone can tell us what is going on.
