Switched on TV today , vodafone tv gen 1 unit was frozen, a channel up down fixed it.

Box seemed slow to change channel in past few days.

Is this the new firmware?

Switched tv on again this evening channel was frozen again.

Have now power off pulled power cable.. hope this not sign of things to come.

Black screen problem has returned for me to. Weekend appeared slightly different behaviour as if the streams were disconnecting, video would freeze frame before going black.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Last night during a couple of programmes eg All Rise TV2 (don't judge me) we were getting micro pauses not black screen but the feed would pause for a second or two

Getting Channel not subscribed or black screen whilst trying to watch the 6pm news at 7:11.

Turning  box off and on and using the channel buttons to navigate works to get running programs.

Going to the menu, the TV1 news / CatchUp still just gives Channel not subscribed.

Pity I didn't know about not being able to add a second VTV to my account. When I tried is said coming soon.

I had to activate my second VTV under my wife's email\phone

Question once we do have the ability to add other devices and use multi room for sky, can I move the new VTV to my account?

I'm guessing when multiroom is up and running you could reset your second box to factory settings and then set it up / reactivate again using your email :)

We have just completed a major upgrade of the VodafoneTV origin server in Auckland, required for us to be able to soon deploy the visual scrubber, and other features. This upgrade was completed in the early hours this morning.  Unfortunately, during the upgrade period some customer's experienced micro-outages of a couple of seconds (requiring a channel-up-down to clear). With the upgrade fully completed, these issues should no longer be occurring.

I am trying to pair a second BL 193 remote to the Vodafone Gen2 Set Top Box but this appears to not be possible. Although the remote status under Settings says that it is using Bluetooth to communicate with the remote I believe this only relates to the first remote that was paired, as any attempt to control the box with the second remote causes the remote to flash red around the power button and use infrared. Is it a bug that only one remote can be paired at a time using Bluetooth?

I am assuming that this same problem would occur if a Harmony Elite Remote was attempted to be paired while the pairing for the original remote still exists. This causes problems if a remote needs to be replaced.

There are clearly problems with replacing a remote or having more than one remote for a Gen2 box. When will these be addressed?

. @olof is now our resident RCU expert, I’ll let him answer.

In regard to using a second remote control: unfortunately, the current software release allows for one paired BLE remote only. You can un-pair and re-pair remotes, but you can only have one BLE remote paired at a time.

Noting that this is not an issue with Logitech Harmony remotes, as they integrate with Vodafone TV using IR, and not BLE. If you have a Harmony, just add Vodafone TV as a device using:

- Manufacturer: Vodafone

- Model: Vodafone TV

Let me know if you want me to post the remote factory reset and pairing/un-pairing commands.

Seriously this thing is average at best, the number of program it can't record due to partner restrictions makes this almost useless. Can't record Taskmaster, the Simpsons, 2 and half men, he list goes on and on....

Plus keeps losing connection, doesn't matter if on WiFi or cable. Really miss the TiVo 20sec fast forward, and preview while fast farwording, who the hell knows how long the ads are, a fast forward timer is all but useless....

And what's this crap about not being able to install apps, needs play store solution....

Seriously needs work
