Hi,

Is there anyone that knows if any Wellington numbers start 04-78....

I had a call from someone who left a message on my external answer phone. They knew my name and gave me a phone number to call him back

but its no such number. After the 04- there are 8 digits starting 78

If someone could shed some light. I tried a few combinations but nothing.

My home phone is vodafone. Is there a way that the call can be traced, perhaps.

Does Vodafone keep on record where calls orginated from.

Thanks

Ford

No nothing starts with 04 78xxxxx

nad.org.nz website contains the full number ranges for NZ and who owns them. Just sounds like a typical scam caller.

OK thanks

Why would they bother leaving a fake phone number?

Probably the same reason spammers rang huge numbers of people continuously for months last year playing a message in Mandarin.. No idea.

Could be an Oz Mobile number- and likely a scam

Did you try dropping the 7 and dialling the remaining 7 digits?

You could enter the number into this and see what pops out: https://auareacodes.com/code/mobile/0478/
